Periwinkle is also called the vinca vine or myrtle. Vinca vines bloom small lavender, blue, or purple flowers appear on the vine in early-to-late spring. The flowers are shaped like pinwheels and have five petals each.

Moist soil but don't like to be waterlogged. Water them deeply once a week or more often in hot weather. Be sure to let the soil dry out between waterings.
Highly toxic when ingested.
