Water very sparingly during this time and kept in a bright, cool position by a window. In summer the plant should be watered more regularly and kept in a very bright space.

 The truth is that a cactus plant isn’t poisonous to your pets, and it is perfectly fine to have this exotic plant around them. Nonetheless, you need to make sure that they don’t eat the cactus plant since you don’t want to take such risks. Animals are naturally curious  which means that they can easily smell and try to taste every plant that you grow.
